Success Stories

Success Stories from Contemporary Turkish Women was the first of our book cover collaborations with Dr. Gönül Bakay, and is the English translated version of a collection of interviews with Turkish women from all sectors with unlikely stories of their success.

With the cover I wished to convey the subtle pride these women took in pushing the national glass ceiling in their respective fields, without emphasizing any particular one. The red of the blouse resembles that of the Turkish flag while the antique crescent moon and star broach reinforces this same theme.

The cover photo was shot by the late Tülin Altılar, a renowned Turkish female photographer.
